Greg MacEachern, Principal

Greg has been advising clients on federal, provincial, territorial and municipal governments for nearly two decades.

Following graduation from St. Francis Xavier University, Greg was hired as a caucus researcher for the government of NS Premier Dr. John Savage. Since that first job Greg has worked in all three levels of government, including as a senior ministerial advisor both provincially and federally. In addition to working as Director of Communications to the President of the Federal Treasury Board, Greg also provided media support to Prime Minister Paul Martin.

In 2011 Greg opened the Ottawa office of Environics Communications (later Proof Strategies) and over the next 12 years built a strong and thriving Government Relations practice that included clients such as Netflix, eBay Canada, The Home Depot and SOCAN. In 2023 he established his own company, KAN Strategies.

Working both within government and during election campaigns, Greg built strong relationships with national, regional, and business media in Canada, as well as with the Parliamentary Press Gallery in Ottawa. In addition to his professional experience, Greg is known for his political media commentary, weekly on CBC’s Power and Politics and SiriusXM’s “Canada Talks” (The Arlene Bynon Show), as well as for 15 years with CTV's Power Play and with various other media outlets. Greg was named by The Hill Times to their Top 25 Parliament Hill Staffers List in 2007 and 2008, and has been named frequently to their list of Canada’s Top 100 Lobbyists. Greg also sits on the Board of Governors of St. Francis Xavier University, the Board of Directors of Hopewell Eating Disorder Support Centre, and on the elected board of the industry association the Government Relations Institute of Canada.
